Sítio da Cumeada, Tavira

Tucked into the Barrocal between Tavira and Cacela Velha, A Hospedaria is a rural farm house and where a golf trip slows down.
Mornings are on the course. Afternoons are by the pool, under the shade of the garden, or out among the vines. Evenings are a long, unhurried dinner.
Hospedaria was restored by Atelier Rua, who reinterpreted the original structure rather than replacing it. The result is reed ceilings, lime-washed walls, natural materials and an eclectic collection of art, a place that feels rooted in its landscape rather than built on top of it.
Four kilometres from the Ria Formosa, it is intimate by design: a small number of suites, a slow pace, and the kind of attention you only get from a house this size.
The cuisine is traditional Portuguese, built around fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Breakfast is homemade and served à la carte. Dinner is a fixed evening menu, adapted to dietary needs, and on selected evenings a Portuguese–Peruvian fusion menu brings something different to the table.
