Morgado do Quintão, Lagoa

Morgado do Quintão is a working wine estate, set among vines, olive, fig and almond orchards where the rolling Barrocal meets the Monchique mountains.
It’s rustic, private and unhurried, and it’s an excellent base for a golf group. Faro Airport is 50 minutes away, the nearest beaches are a short drive, and some of the Western Algarve’s best courses are close at hand.
Morgado do Quintão has been in the same family for generations. Rather than building something new, they chose to preserve what was already here, slowly converting old farmhouses, a caretaker’s lodging and former cereal stores into guest cottages. The result is weathered, honest and full of character: old stone, local materials, artwork by the family’s mother Teresa, and furniture and curiosities collected over the years or rescued from around the Algarve.
At the heart of the estate stands the Main House, home to a 2,000-year-old olive tree, a library, and the Farmer’s Table where lunches and wine tastings are served. Each cottage is a short stroll from it, close enough to feel part of the estate, far enough to feel entirely your own.
Your base for golf in the Western Algarve
Your days here follow an easy rhythm: a morning round, an afternoon by your own pool, and an evening on the terrace with a glass of the estate’s wine as the sun sets behind the hills.

The three cottages
Bougainvillea: Up to 8 Guests
Built in the 1920s and renovated in the spirit of a traditional Algarve farmhouse, Bougainvillea sits close to the Main House and the olive tree, surrounded by fig orchards. Open-plan living and dining space that is perfect for a group to gather in after a round. There are three bedrooms, two of them en-suite, and a sun-drenched private terrace and swimming pool.
Amêndoa: Up to 6 Guests
The first house on the estate to welcome guests, Amêndoa is shaded by almond trees at the western edge of the vineyards, overlooking the Negramole and Castelão vines and the olive grove. It has three bedrooms: two double rooms, one of them en-suite, and a bunk room, plus a cosy living room and large floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the patio. Private and secluded, yet only a short walk from the Main House.
Gatekeeper’s: Up to 6 Guests
Once home to the estate’s gatekeeper, this blue-shuttered cottage is the quietest of the three, set near the entrance among wildflowers and old olive trees. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them en-suite, with a private pool tucked away among the trees. It’s the one for guests who want silence, space and a true retreat.
